In the first scene of my chamber opera about the life of Maddalena Lombardini, an 18th century composer and violin virtuosa, Maddalena prays to her guardian angel. She sings the prayer in English while her guardian angel sings the same text in the original Latin as a countermelody. This is a short piano transcription of the music.
